Eight students from the Beijing Gucheng Middle School visited the Education Office of the Embassy of Spain in China on April 16, participating in a cultural event and receiving a warm welcome from the embassy.

Ms. María Luisa Ochoa Fernández, Education Counselor at the Embassy of Spain in China, delivered the opening remarks, followed by a presentation from Mr. Ovidio Hórreo Tuero, Education Advisor at the embassy, who gave an introduction to Spain's geography, history, and culture.

Students from the first-year Spanish class performed a traditional ethnic dance, accompanied by bilingual Chinese-Spanish commentary.

This presentation showcased a dance form from China's Uygur ethnic group, which inherits traditions from ancient dances along the Orkhon River basin and incorporates elements from ancient western regions. Originating during China's Tang Dynasty (618-907), it embodies the locals' love for life and the pursuit of beauty.

Students from the second-year Spanish class presented Spanish songs and performed voice-over segments from the Chinese classic Journey to the West, one of the Four Great Classical Novels of Chinese literature.
