Outstanding dance works will head out on a national tour, the Beijing Dance Academy has announced. In order to better promote education, intensive research and innovation through performances, the Peach and Plum Cup national tour was launched on Thursday.      

The Peach and Plum Cup has grown into a phenomenon over the past 40 years by establishing advantages in high-end education and originality, said Ba Tu, the Party chief of the Beijing Dance Academy.  

The tour is scheduled to run until November. It will include 15 performances across 11 theaters in cities like Kunming, Chongqing, and Beijing. 

This is the first large-scale tour the Peach and Plum Cup has carried out since its establishment. The tour aims to promote the innovative and creative inheritance and development of Chinese dance, talent training and the development of the dance industry.
