The Guang Hui Art Museum in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, opened three new exhibitions on Friday with the aim of showing the relationship between Chinese art and the development of the times over the past century, displaying the magnificent history of China in modern times from the perspective of art, and reflecting today's latest artistic processes.
The Collection Exhibition includes various masterpieces from renowned artists like Wu Changshuo, Qi Baishi, Huang Binhong and Xu Beihong, all from the museum's collection. The Modern and Contemporary Chinese Art since the Dawn of the 20th Century and Taikang Collection Exhibition explores the history of how artists closely connected themselves and their artistic works with social realities, while the Portraits in the Prime of Art exhibition reflects the museum's commitment to local artists and helping them grow.
The museum has collected more than 500 ink paintings from more than 60 modern and contemporary artists, and has established a relatively complete collection system for modern Chinese ink art. It also actively pays attention to the development of modern and contemporary art, and hopes to present a good visiting experience to art lovers.
The exhibitions are set to run until August.
