Austrian chamber orchestra Klangforum Wien held a special concert at the Central Conservatory of Music Opera and Concert Hall on May 12, 2024, marking the successful conclusion of the 2024 Beijing Modern Music Festival.

The orchestra was founded by famous Swiss composer and conductor Beat Furrer and is internationally renowned for its broad range of styles and virtuoso performances.

The concert presented an impressive series of modern music works, including Furrer's piano work "Back to You," Chinese composer Ye Xiaogang's "Chinese Poems" and Greek composer Georges Aperghis' "Recitations."

“This concert will help to develop the influence of modern music in China. Through exchanges during the Beijing Modern Music Festival, we have also gained a new understanding of modern Chinese music,” said Peter Paul Kainrath, director of the orchestra.

The Beijing Modern Music Festival has always been an important platform for Chinese modern music and international exchanges, and it is also an active promoter of cross-cultural communication and integration. Since Klangforum Wien first came to China in 2015, it has had frequent and in-depth artistic exchanges with China.

Klangforum Wien's appearance not only brought a wonderful music feast for Chinese audiences, but also built an important bridge for the exchange of Chinese modern music and international art, heralding in-depth cooperation between China and the world in the field of contemporary music.
