Sweden: ‘Swedish Music Moments’ promoted in Shanghai

The Consulate General of Sweden in Shanghai on Wednesday organized an event, the "Swedish Music Moments: Hits and Innovations," curated to introduce and promote Swedish music and its music industry to both Chinese and international audiences in the city. 

Marie-Claire Swärd Capra, Consul General of Sweden in Shanghai made opening remarks, welcoming the attendees and shared with them why and how Sweden, a nation of just 10 million people, located in the northern reaches of the globe, stands as the largest exporter of pop music per capita and the third largest overall.

Echoing the consul-general, Jan-Olof Gullo, professor for Music and Media Production at KMH, Royal College of Music in Stockholm made a video presentation titled "From Studio to Global Stage: How Sweden became a Music Powerhouse."

Sun Mengjin, music and film critic, also a documentary director and Ru Xi, music enthusiastic and poet, and founder of RuxiEMD, shared with the attendees their personal connection and knowledge of Swedish music and musicians. 

They also highlighted the people-to-people cultural exchanges between China and Sweden.
