The eighth edition of Gallery Weekend Beijing has been officially opened in the capital, featuring more than exhibitions from nearly 40 domestic and international galleries and nonprofit institutions.
Gallery Weekend Beijing is dedicated to building an international platform for contemporary art dialogue and promotion with a pioneering and professional approach. Each year, Gallery Weekend Beijing hosts a nine-day art event centered around the latest exhibitions from galleries and nonprofit institutions in the Beijing area.
This year's event is running from May 24 to June 2. This year's Gallery Weekend Beijing will link various cultural landmarks centered around the 798 Art Zone.
The eighth edition is shining a spotlight on emerging talents in the contemporary art world, featuring exhibitions by young artists from both China and abroad who engage with various media and thematic discussions.
The "New Forces" section continues to support young artists and curators, focusing on their reflections and expressions of the interplay between global culture and Chinese identity. This segment highlights the youthful and diverse characteristics of the contemporary art ecosystem.
The exhibitions include a wide range of mediums, such as video, installations, sculpture, and painting.
