The film
Gold or Shit, starring Hu Ge and Gao Yuanyuan, on Sunday held its premiere in Beijing. The film garnered significant attention and acclaim at the Beijing International Film Festival, where it won Best Picture, Best Screenplay, and Best Supporting Actress. It is set for nationwide release on June 8.
At the premiere, director Long Fei stated that
Gold or Shit is an unconventional genre film inspired by fragments and details of everyday life. It uses slice-of-life comedy to depict the bittersweet aspects of real life.
Hu, discussing his role as Wu Di, mentioned that after confronting reality, his character chooses to return to his hometown to start anew and reconnect with the strength he draws from his family. Gao shared that her character, Feng Liuliu, battles age-related anxieties, and emphasized that it's never too late to start anew. She noted that the role has been a source of great inspiration for her.
