The Hong Kong Ballet (HKB) has announced its 2024-25 Season, which will mark its 45th anniversary with a series of exciting premieres and classic favorites. Highlights include the Asian premieres of The Wizard of Oz and Frida, the world premiere of The Butterfly Lovers, and a fresh new interpretation of Giselle.

HKB will debut Tutu Academy, a whimsical short film celebrating the company's milestone anniversary. Artistic Director Septime Webre described Tutu Academy as a tribute to the unifying power of ballet. Set in a retro-futuristic Hong Kong, the film follows a space alien who discovers acceptance and joy through ballet, highlighting the beauty of human connections in our unique world. The season also features family favorites like the Hong Kong-themed The Nutcracker and the interactive Ballet Carnival for Kids with ALICE (in Wonderland) activities.

Representing Hong Kong as an important cultural and artistic base in China and the West, the company has toured nearly 50 times around the world, visiting 11 countries, including those in Europe, the US and Asia in recent years. Executive Director Heidi Lee encouraged audiences to support HKB by taking advantage of advance booking discounts and securing the best seats.
