Stage Grid uses innovative approach to streamline electric vehicle charging

On May 20, Jiao Hongtao, an employee of State Grid Pingdu Power Supply Company, learned that resident Mr Liu had applied to install a charging pile station. Jiao promptly contacted him and guided him through the green channel of the "Online State Grid" APP to submit his electricity application.“The power supply company has signed a ‘handling electricity without proof’ processing agreement with your residential compound. When applying for the charging pile installation business, individuals can submit applications directly through the ‘Online State Grid’ APP.”

As early as February this year, when Jiao Hongtao visited the community, he learned from the local grid officer about the difficulties in handling charging piles in the residential compound. “Our community was built relatively early and did not consider the installation of charging piles. In recent years, many homeowners have expressed the need for these installations. Due to the fact that construction involves public areas and charging safety issues, residents needed to register and report to the community's property management individually. Then the property management would provide the public announcement results and feedback from other homeowners to the car owners and power supply companies. This was a significant waste of manpower and material resources,” said Mr Wang, the property manager of Yuejun Metropolitan Community in Pingdu City.

After learning about the problem, the State Grid Pingdu Power Supply Company took the initiative to get in contact with the community property to explore the pilot of a new service model. Thanks to their efforts, now home owners no longer need to go to the community property to provide documentation individually, instead, they can directly submit a power connection application through the “Online State Grid” APP to the power supply company. This not only simplifies the process of electricity supply and management, but it also saves everyone’s time. This initiative is a successful practice of the State Grid Pingdu Power Supply Company in actively exploring the grid integration service model.

To meet the growing demand for electric vehicle charging, the company relies on the “urban and rural grid + power grid” collaborative system. They organize connection between power grid personnel and urban and rural communities, and have signed “handling electricity without proof” agreements with more than 30 residential properties, completing self-use charging pile power supply services for more than 4000 households.

Since the beginning of this year, the Pingdu Power Supply Company has actively coordinated and communicated with Pingdu Social Governance Service Center, effectively promoting the integration and co-construction of power supply services and urban and rural community grids, exploring grid integration service models, with the goal of satisfying all customer demands. Urban and rural grid personnel directly transfer electricity-related requests and power supply issues to the power grid personnel for timely processing, continuously improving the convenience, accuracy, and standardization level of power supply services, thus enhancing people’s experience with electricity.
