Malnutrition has threatened the lives of 3,500 children in the Gaza Strip, the Hamas media office said in a press statement on Tuesday.

"Famine is accelerating in the Gaza Strip, and 3,500 children are at risk of death as a result of malnutrition and the lack of nutritional supplements and vaccinations, which are prohibited from entering the enclave," it added.

The statement claimed that "Israel and the U.S. administration are leading" to prevent aid and goods from reaching the Palestinian people.

On the same day, the Gaza health authorities said in a press statement that the Palestinian death toll amid the ongoing Palestinian-Israeli conflict has risen to 37,372, with 85,452 others wounded.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Tuesday that IDF operational activity continues in the central and southern Gaza Strip, where the troops located large amounts of weaponry.

Israel launched a large-scale offensive against Hamas in the Gaza Strip to retaliate against a Hamas rampage through the southern Israeli border on Oct. 7, 2023, during which about 1,200 people were killed and around 250 taken hostages.
