France: Music Festival Maidao Beats & Bites opens in Qingdao

The French Music Festival Maidao Beats & Bites opened in Qingdao, East China's Shandong Province, on Sunday. Set within the context of the 60th anniversary of China-France diplomatic ties and the China-France Year of Culture and Tourism, the event brings an exciting musical feast to the audience.

Guillaume Roy, the consul general at the Embassy of France in China and Zhao Yan, vice-mayor of Qingdao attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. 

Surrounded by the gentle sea breeze and the fragrant blossoms, the French Music Festival Maidao Beats & Bites delighted the audience with a French picnic and live performances by Chinese and French bands. 

The event offered a joyful and friendly atmosphere, showcasing the charm of both Chinese and French cultures.  

Meanwhile, ice cream and handmade yoghurt from Switzerland attracted many visitors who gladly lined up to taste the delicious treats.

As a well-known international coastal tourism destination, Qingdao ranks 13th in the Forbes list of the top 30 most developed cities in Chinese mainland. The city has established tourism cooperation with 91 urban tourism institutions and organizations in 33 countries and regions and it has hosted various China-France cultural and tourism exchange events. 

Qingdao has seen fruitful and pragmatic cooperation progress in the fields of sister cities, economic and trade investment, higher education and science and technology, culture, tourism and sports.
