The original national opera March of the Volunteers will debut in Beijing on July 5-6. This opera artistically recreates the creation process of China's national anthem "March of the Volunteers" and highlights the significant influence of the Shanghai left-wing cultural movement on society and the public.

At a press conference of the show on Tuesday, the production team shared the background and creative process behind the work. The production upholds and promotes the fine traditions of Chinese opera and strives to create a high-quality national opera that is true to historical facts.

March of the Volunteers, as the latest effort by the Shanghai Opera House to tell the story of China through the art of opera, aims to inspire patriotism and cultural confidence in the audience. This opera shows the spiritual connotations of the left-wing cultural movement through vocal art forms such as chorus and duet, inspiring the Chinese people of the new era to move forward on a new journey of great practice.
