The Baotou Art Fair, the first ever in the North China city, is set to kick off on July 12, the organizer announced on Wednesday.

The Baotou Art Fair is set to run for five days, including a preview day on July 11. July 12 to 15 will be public days. Over 2,000 artworks ranging from paintings and sculptures to calligraphy works and photographs from art institutions and outstanding artists from across the country will go on display at the Baotou International Convention and Exhibition Center.

Beside the display of high-quality art, the fair will also provide an exchange and trade platform for collections with partners like Rongbaozhai, aiming to build Baotao into an important art base in the north.

At the same time, a cultural salon will be held during the Baotou Art Fair that invites artists to create art that has both personal artistic style and Baotou city characteristics.
