"We have inspected the power lines inside and outside the base, and you can use them with confidence," Jiao Yulu from State Grid Puyang Power Supply Company assured staff at Dashizhi Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd. in Chenzhuang Town, Fanxian County, located in Central China's Henan Province. This assurance came after a thorough inspection of the electricity consumption of the breeding base, ice maker, oxygen pump, generator, and other electrical equipment at the company.
In recent years, Fanxian County in Puyang, Henan, has shown strong support for the aquaculture industry, investing nearly 40 million yuan ($5.5 million) in the infrastructure construction of aquatic bases covering over 100 acres, as reported by the Global Times. The county has also implemented incentive and subsidy measures for the aquaculture industry, continuously enhancing the high-quality development of aquaculture within the region. Currently, the total area of aquaculture in Fanxian County has reached 38,400 acres, producing 12,200 tons of aquatic products with a total output value of 150 million yuan. Notably, the area dedicated to advantageous characteristic aquaculture, such as crayfish, river crabs, green crabs, South American white shrimp, spotted catfish, and snakehead, has reached 13,000 acres.
An Zhentao, the head of the base, emphasized the importance of electricity in the cultivation of white shrimp, highlighting the need for sufficient water and oxygen support, as well as continuous power supply for oxygen supply machines and breeding lamps. These devices play a crucial role in attracting insects to provide natural food for shrimp, promoting ecological and green farming practices.
State Grid Puyang Power Supply Company has taken proactive steps to optimize the operation mode of the power grid in response to the electricity needs of farmers. This includes enhancing comprehensive substation management, developing renovation construction plans, increasing transformer capacity, and upgrading rural power grid lines. The company has added three new 300 kVA transformers and replaced four 200 kVA transformers, providing capacity increase services for 12 farmers and enhancing power quality.
To ensure the safe and reliable use of electricity by farmers, the company has implemented convenience service measures, conducted on-site consultations, and promoted safe electricity knowledge door-to-door. Additionally, the company's disciplinary committee addresses farmers' demands, implements a list of agricultural-related issues for management, and provides timely solutions to help farmers overcome development challenges.
