High-temperature patrol ensures power supply in Henan

On June 25, the drone patrol staff of Henan Power Transmission and Transformation Construction Co, Ltd pressed a button, launching a drone that slowly rose into the air to commence autonomous patrols of the ultra-high voltage Qingyu Line. The Qingyu project is the first ultra-high voltage channel in China and globally specifically designed for the transmission of clean energy.

Recently, most areas of Henan will be facing strong convective and high-temperature weather, which poses a great challenge to the safety of the provincial power grid lines and the bearing of electricity load. As the main force and vanguard in the operation and maintenance of the main network lines in Henan, Henan Power Transmission and Transformation Construction Co, Ltd is responsible for the operation and maintenance of 188 ultra-high voltage lines with a total length of over 13,000 kilometers within the province, and bears a significant responsibility to ensure the safe and stable operation of the power grid during the summer's adverse weather and high-temperature high-load period.

"During the high-temperature and high-load period in Henan, we use drones for intelligent line inspection, increasing the frequency of patrols, which allows us to respond quickly and resolve emergencies, ensuring that the Qingyu Line can maintain efficient and stable operation under high-temperature conditions," said the on-site operation and maintenance personnel.

With the rise in temperature in the Henan region, the electricity load has been increasing steadily, and the pressure on the safety risks of the power grid is relatively high. To ensure the smooth and orderly progress of various safety production activities and to prevent accidents, power workers carry out line patrols and power protection across the province, inspect potential power grid hazards, and monitor and grasp the operating conditions of equipment in a timely manner to ensure the safe and stable operation of the power grid.
