China-France relations have always been at the forefront of China's relations with the West. The southern region of France is rich in cultural and artistic resources and has very active exchanges with various regions in China. The Chinese Consulate in Marseille, France, will actively support diverse cultural exchanges and cooperation between the two sides and promote the accelerated development of people-to-people exchanges, noted Dong Guangli, Chinese consulate-general in Marseille, France.

Dong made these remarks last week during his meeting with Chinese artists representatives and experts in drama at the consulate before a promotional conference for the China Guilin Festival held in Avignon.

The China Guilin Festival Promotion Conference was held at the Palais des Papes International Conference Center in Avignon on Thursday.

Featuring various performances such as plays, folk music and operas, the Guilin Festival integrates art, theater, and the natural splendor of the region. This year, the festival will be held in Guilin, a famous tourist destination in South China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, from October 26 to November 3.
