An immersive survival challenge-based, variety show Tenday, produced by Chinese streaming site iQIYI, officially launched on Friday. In the few days since its release, it has sparked continuous discussions on social media platforms.

The show brings together 39 participants from various fields, including artists, e-sports players, veteran technology investors, film and television production elites, professional fitness coaches, and university lecturers. They face 10 days of comprehensive challenges involving mental, physical, psychological and cooperative tasks in a completely closed environment without mobile phones or internet.

At a recent media preview, the chief director Chen Wei shared his thoughts on the show's creation, noting, "We hope to fully utilize the unique narrative advantages of long-form variety shows, turning the program into a gripping 'drama series,' breaking the traditional framework of variety shows, and making the content's appeal transcend the boundaries of time and space, touching people's hearts with a good story. This is not only a bold challenge to the boundaries of traditional variety shows but also an ultimate pursuit of the depth and breadth of content innovation."
