Colombia: Tourism conference in Shanghai promotes resources

The Colombia Tourism Promotion Conference was held in Shanghai on July 17 to promote Colombia's rich tourism resources and attract more Chinese tourists to the vibrant and diverse South American country.

In his keynote speech, Miguel Alberto Gómez Vélez, Consul General of Colombia in Shanghai, said that although China and Colombia are far apart, the friendship between the two peoples has a long history and a strong interest in culture and tourism. In recent years, more and more Chinese tourists have chosen to travel to Colombia to experience its unique natural landscapes and rich cultural heritage. 

He noted that Colombia is not only a country rich in natural resources, but also a vibrant and welcoming tourist destination. The country is blessed with a high biodiversity in the world, as well as abundant flora and fauna, and diverse ecosystems. 

From the majestic Andes Mountains to the vast Amazon rainforest, from the stunning Caribbean coast to the mysterious ruins of ancient cities, Colombia offers visitors endless opportunities to explore and experience, the consul general introduced. The delegates also watched tourism videos.
