France: Watching the Olympic opening ceremony together

The Embassy of France in China hosted a session at the Institute of France in Beijing for audience to watch the replay of the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games on July 26. French Ambassador to China Bertrand Lortholary introduced Thomas Jolly, the artistic director of the Opening Ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The ambassador said that Thomas Jolly is the artistic director of the Paris 2024 Olympics. He is also a versatile artist, theater actor, and opera director. He went on to introduce many tourism landmarks/attractions in Paris: the Grand Palais, (the venue for fencing and Taekwondo), the Pont Alexandre III (where the Marathon Swimming events will start and end), the Esplanade des Invalides for archery sessions and the Palace of Versailles (the venue for Olympic equestrian competition). While the Roucas-Blanc Marina, known as the Marseille Marina for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, a point of departure for boats, has been adapted to stage a competition on the scale of the Olympic Games. 

The audience also enjoyed performances of French dancers Kami and Bee D and Chinese dancers Smoke and Morty. 

During the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, each morning the Institute of France in Beijing replays the previous day's competition. In the afternoon, live broadcast is staged.
