China's assistance in Nepal's development has promoted the further deepening of relations between the two countries, Nepali Ambassador to China Bishnu Pukar Shrestha said in his speech. In particular, infrastructure, investment, trade, tourism, health, agriculture, information and telecommunication technology, and medical areas have benefited. Nepal-China relations are an exemplar of barrier-free exchanges, peace, and friendship between two countries of different sizes and systems.

"Nepal and China have many things in common in terms of culture, Buddhist beliefs, and lifestyle. The two countries have always respected each other's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and independence. Nepal and China support each other and work together to promote global peace, progress, prosperity, and harmony. The two sides can further promote the development of bilateral relations through a number of channels," the ambassador told the Global Times.

The year 2024 marks the fifth anniversary of President Xi Jinping's state visit to Nepal, as well as the 69th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Nepal.

The Nepal Culture Promotion Center will provide an important platform for displaying and disseminating Nepal's rich and colorful humanities, arts, cultural heritage, and other content, and further promote cultural exchanges and cooperation between the two countries.

The event also kicked off the "Belt and Road" - Light of Culture 2024 Traditional Cultural Exchange Activity. Through this series of activities, the rich depth of traditional Chinese culture will be passed on to the people of Nepal and the friendly exchanges between the two peoples will be further enhanced.

As an important platform to showcase and disseminate the traditional culture of China and Nepal, the "Belt and Road" - Light of Culture 2024 project aims to further promote in-depth cooperation between the two countries in the cultural field through a variety of projects such as art exhibitions and traditional performances.

Li Bo, president of the China-Nepal Culture Exchange Center, told the Global Times that the project not only provides a platform to showcase the cultural essence of the two countries, but also builds a bridge for friendly exchanges between the two peoples. Through mutual understanding and appreciation of each other's cultures, the friendship and understanding between the two peoples will be further enhanced, he said.
