Germany: Haikou 2024 ‘Deutschland Tag’ held in Haikou, Hainan Province

Haikou 2024 "Deutschland Tag" (Germany Day) was jointly held by the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Guangzhou and the Foreign Affairs Office of Haikou on August 3.

The event kicked off at the Century Cape Commercial Street in Haikou. On a lovely summer night and in the gentle sea breezes, visitors took a stroll amid music, enjoying snacks and a sports broadcast. Guests at the event even 

immersed themselves in unique German customs.

Deputy Consul General of Germany in Guangzhou Jana Ludwig stated that the year 2024 marks the 10th anniversary of the China-Germany comprehensive strategic partnership. She said that in the last half century since the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Germany, relations between the two countries have maintained high-level development. High-level exchanges between the two countries have been close, practical cooperation has continued to deepen, and exchanges between the two sides have made great progress in trade, economically, culturally, and in other fields. It is hoped that the two sides will further strengthen communication and exchanges in the future and promote governmental and non-governmental exchanges among Germany, Hainan, and Haikou at all levels have brought benefits to the lives of the two peoples.

Meanwhile, the 7th China-Germany u16 Youth Football Friendship Tournament opened on the same day. These events have built a bridge to strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the two places in various fields such as the economy, trade, tourism, and science and technology, and share the dividends of the development of Haikou, a free trade port city and the capital of China's island province of Hainan.
