On August 15, the electronic screen of the intelligent energy efficiency management system at a company in Lishui, Nanjing, displayed the enterprise's real-time electricity consumption. This system, developed through a collaboration between State Grid Nanjing Power Supply Company and the enterprise, aims at promoting scientific electricity use, reducing costs and enhancing operational efficiency.
With support from the State Grid Nanjing Power Supply Company, the company has also installed a photovoltaic power station with a capacity of about 4 megawatts on the roof of the factory. This station is expected to generate about 4.5 million KWh of electricity, annually. This set-up includes an energy storage station and charging piles, contributing to the creation of a smart micro-grid.
"The energy efficiency management system can monitor the energy storage, the charging piles and the power consumption of various equipment, including the photovoltaic station, in real time. This allows the company to provide accurate power supply according to the demand of different areas and different floors, thus reducing energy consumption," said Chen Xiaoyong, director of the Marketing Department of the State Grid Nanjing Lishui District Power Supply Company, adding that after the energy efficiency management system and smart micro-grid will be put into operation, the company will be able to save 3 million yuan a year in electricity bills.

The State Grid Nanjing Power Supply Company has announced plans for this year to conduct energy efficiency diagnostic services for 380 public institutions and 142 enterprises. Additionally the company will continue to promote low-carbon building , energy-saving transformation and other services, to promote greater energy efficiency.
In addition to energy efficiency management, Nanjing has also launched a "government-enterprise co-ownership" policy for electric power line projects, in which power supply companies and government departments jointly invest in the construction of electric power line projects to help enterprises save power supply costs. After a company in Nanjing put forward an application for electricity, the State Grid Nanjing Company expanded its infrastructure by installing four new ring network cabinets and laying over 5,000 meters of cables that extend all the way to the company's premises.
