In an effort to curb the spread of harmful misinformation and content that ferments confrontation between China and Japan, Kuaishou, one of China's popular short video platforms, announced on Saturday that it has silenced or permanently banned over 90 accounts.
The company said in a statement that the platform had recently discovered a number of users publishing fabricated and misleading content, stirring up conflict between China and Japan, severely disrupting the online environment. The platform has taken decisive action in accordance with its regulations, dealing with more than 90 accounts through measures such as silencing users, disabling comments, and permanently banning accounts.
Kuaishou stressed its commitment to launching special inspection campaigns aimed at addressing these violations. The platform also urged its users express themselves responsibly, avoid spreading rumors, and refrain from inciting conflict in pursuit of viral attention.
