Israeli warplanes carried out over 120 airstrikes on Monday morning on sites of Hezbollah and in southern and eastern Lebanon, Lebanese military sources said.
The Lebanese military sources, who spoke anonymously, told Xinhua that Israeli warplanes had carried out the airstrikes in about half an hour.
Since Thursday, the Israeli army has intensified its raids on Hezbollah targets after a wave of bombings that targeted pagers and wireless communication devices on Tuesday and Wednesday in several areas of Lebanon, killing at least 37 people and wounding about 3,000, the Lebanese Ministry of Health said.
The Israeli army and Hezbollah have been exchanging fire across the Israel-Lebanon border since Oct. 8, 2023, raising fears that the nearly one-year-long confrontations could escalate into a full-scale war.
