China has called for a great global effort to enhance international technological collaboration to address common challenges, and China is willing to contribute Chinese wisdom for building a better home for humanity, a Foreign Ministry spokesperson said on Wednesday.

Lin Jian made the remarks at a press conference while commenting on series of technological achievements across the sectors of commercial aerospace, humanoid robots and quantum computing by China's enterprises.

Lin mentioned the just-concluded 2024 World Manufacturing Convention, and attributed the progress to the nation attaching great importance to promoting technological innovation.

"Over 75 years of hard work, China has built the world's most complete academic system and world's largest talent system, with breakthroughs in basic frontier research fields as well as strategic high-tech fields," Lin said.

The Global Innovation Index 2023 released by the World Intellectual Property Organization showed that China's overall innovation capability ranked 12th in the world, making it the only middle-income economy among the top 30 featured on the index, Lin said.

In light of the current trend toward globalization, no country can solve all innovation challenges in isolation, and mankind needs international cooperation and open sharing more than ever before. Adhering to reform and opening-up, as well as promoting win-win cooperation, is China's experience in achieving leapfrog development, Lin added.

"China has not only participated in and benefited from economic globalization, but also contributed to and promoted it, and always advocated for and practiced the principles of openness, fairness, justice and non-discrimination," said Lin.

China aims to explore a new, mutually beneficial innovative cooperation mode with all parties, enhancing resources sharing and complementary advantages to deal with common challenges and questions, he said.

The four-day 2024 World Manufacturing Convention concluded on Monday in Hefei, East China's Anhui Province. A total of 718 investment projects worth 369.2 billion yuan ($52 billion) were signed, underscoring strong collaboration in fields such as artificial intelligence, green technology and advanced manufacturing, the Xinhua News Agency reported.
