Chinese movie The Great Journey will hit the big screen on Wednesday. The movie is based on the art performance of the same name used to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC) at the National Stadium in Beijing on the evening of June 28, 2021.

This is the first 4K panoramic sound, large-scale, epic stage art film in China to integrate music, dance, drama and film. With a grand perspective and vivid narrative, the film reviews the magnificent and glorious history of the CPC over the past century, and shows the great leap of the Chinese people from standing up, getting rich, and becoming strong under the leadership of the Party.

Chen Weiya, the director of the art performance, said that during the creation of the theatrical performance The Great Journey, "we depicted the struggle of the Chinese people under the leadership of the Party through artistic languages such as drama, music and dance, and demonstrated the unity of the nation and the courage to move forward."
