Amplifon, a global leader in hearing solutions, is focusing on China. With over 400 stores across 15 regions, it is one of the country's key operators.

Founded in 1950, Amplifon is the world's leading Italian provider of hearing solutions. Its mission is to improve people's quality of life by restoring their hearing. According to the World Health Organization, approximately 1.5 billion people worldwide suffer from some form of hearing loss, and that figure is expected to rise to 2.5 billion by 2050.

The company has progressively grown in Italy and later expanded internationally. Starting in the 1990s, it became a global leader in the sector with a 13 percent share of the market. Amplifon currently operates in 26 countries across five continents, with nearly 10,000 retail outlets and a workforce of more than 20,000 people, including over 10,000 hearing aid specialists.

Headquartered in Milan, Amplifon's organizational structure spans three regions: Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA); the Americas; and the Asia-Pacific (APAC), where it boasts a strong presence in Australia, China, India, and New Zealand.

Since 2001, Amplifon has been listed on the Milan Stock Exchange. Furthermore, since 2021, it has been included in the Italian Stock Exchange's MIB ESG index, a prestigious group of the top 40 Italian blue-chip companies committed to the best sustainability practices. The company is led by Susan Carol Holland, who is also its major shareholder, and CEO Enrico Vita. Amplifon boasts annual revenues of approximately 2.3 billion euros ($2.5 billion) and a market capitalization exceeding 7 billion euros.

Amplifon stands out globally by providing high-quality and personalized service through the expertise of its specialized in-store personnel, unique protocols, and technological innovation. The company continues to improve its customer offering by leveraging three key assets: leading sector brands, deep consumer knowledge, and an innovative customer experience, with digital technologies playing a critical role in refining protocols both in-store and externally, from initial contact to post-sales support.

Through its new Ampli-Care platform, Amplifon aims to deliver a revolutionary and increasingly tailored audiological experience, both during visits to specialized centers through a new immersive store format and throughout the customer journey.

Innovation is ingrained in Amplifon's DNA, driving its mission to personalize service and enhance customer experiences. The company has extended its commitment to innovation at an organizational level through AmplifonX, an in-house startup dedicated to designing, creating, and developing proprietary digital technologies.

Technology is essential for delivering high-quality services and fostering trust between Amplifon and its customers. To optimize audiometric processes and better understand customer needs, Amplifon has introduced OtoPad, an iPad-based audiometer developed in-house. Currently available in Italy and the US, this calibrated and certified tool ensures service quality at exceptionally high standards while optimizing the efficiency of hearing care professionals.

Amplifon is committed to creating value for all its stakeholders, improving people's lives, nurturing talent, and educating future generations about the importance of hearing health. These core principles have long shaped Amplifon's business strategy and are reflected in its sustainability plan. This strategic plan revolves around four key commitment areas, with objectives set for 2026, 2028, and 2030: product and service, people, community impact, and ethics. Of particular significance is Amplifon's commitment to its people.

The company provides its employees with over 400,000 hours of training each year. Amplifon's workforce boasts over 100 different nationalities, with women representing 74 percent of employees and holding nearly half of all managerial positions.

Recognized as one of the 100 Most Loved Workplaces globally by Newsweek, Amplifon's commitment to the communities in which it operates materialized in 2020 with the establishment of the Amplifon Foundation. This non-profit organization operates in Italy and is expanding on an international scale, with projects aimed at promoting social inclusion among vulnerable populations, particularly the elderly.

China is one of Amplifon's latest additions to its global network and represents a strategic priority for the group in the coming years. Amplifon entered the Chinese market in 2018. In just five years, the company has steadily expanded to become one of the leading players in the country's hearing care sector, boasting a network of over 400 stores spread across 15 regions and employing around 1,000 hearing aid specialists. Amplifon's presence in China more than doubled between 2022 and 2023 alone.

The company is actively engaged in raising awareness about the importance of hearing prevention through events, informative campaigns, and social media activities.

Moreover, Amplifon has undertaken significant social initiatives in China, such as the collaboration with the Beijing Hearing Association and the Veterans Foundation to provide hearing solutions to veterans, and the partnership with the Hangzhou Disabled Persons Foundation to donate hearing devices to children with hearing impairments.
