Theater writers and critics from countries like China, France, Poland and Italy recently participated in an international seminar hosted by China Theatre Association and Beijing People's Art Theatre.

Under the theme of the New Horizons of Theater, they conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges around drama creation, international exchanges, performance operations and other issues, and jointly discussed the future development of drama art.

Chen Yongquan, vice chairman of the China Theatre Association, said that since its birth, the theatrical arts have had the mission of connecting people's hearts and blending cultures. The Chinese Theatre Association has always been committed to promoting exchanges and mutual learning between Chinese and world drama. It not only participates in hosting long-term regional drama cooperation activities such as the BeSeTo (China, South Korea and Japan) Drama Festival, but also launches international campus drama exchange events.

Overseas participants also shared their understanding and opinions on international cooperation and exchanges.

Zhang Huiqing, general manager of the Shanghai Dramatic Art Center, discussed the interactive relationship between drama and the city, emphasizing the importance of drama as a medium for cultural exchange. She said that that drama should be integrated into urban life and become part of culture. The art center has adopted innovative measures such as urban roaming performances, cross-border cooperation and international exchanges to expand the boundaries of drama and increase its diversity and inclusiveness.
