An Israeli man, about 50 years old, was seriously injured on Wednesday after projectiles were launched from Lebanon into northern Israel, according to Israel's national emergency service, Magen David Adom.

The man sustained a head injury in the northwestern coastal city of Nahariya, likely from intercepting fragments, and was sent to the city's Galilee Medical Center in an unconscious state.

The injury occurred after a barrage of 25 projectiles was fired from Lebanon into the Western Galilee region, most of which were intercepted by the Israeli air defense, according to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

This barrage was preceded by 56 projectiles launched from Lebanon into northern Israel on Wednesday and one toward the Tel Aviv metropolis, causing damage to a car in the central city of Herzliya.

The IDF added that throughout the day, the Israeli Air Force intercepted five drones launched to the north and south of Israel.
