China "does not recognize nor accept" the EU's final ruling on the anti-subsidy investigation into China-made electric vehicles and has filed a suit at the WTO Dispute Settlement Body over the matter, a spokesperson for China's Commerce Ministry said on Wednesday, vowing the country will take "all necessary measures" to firmly safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese companies.

Speaking with the Global Times, Michael Schumann, chairman of the Board of the Federal Association for Economic Development and Foreign Trade, a German organization dedicated to promoting economic development and foreign trade, warned that EU’s final decision to put up trade barriers by increasing tariffs on Chinese-built electric vehicles risks losing credibility by obstructing Chinese EVs that could help achieve climate goals.
