Four individuals suspected of involvement in an infant trafficking case have been placed under criminal coercive measures by the police. A joint working group has been established to further investigate the case in Ningling county, Central China's Henan Province, the county health commission said on Friday.

After receiving reports from netizens alleging that personnel at Ningling County People's Hospital were involved in infant trafficking, the county immediately established a joint investigation team to carry out further investigation, according to a statement released by the county health commission.

Wang, a driver for the ambulance team at Ningling County People's Hospital, has been collaborating with obstetricians at the hospital for years for profit by transferring infants to other families, The Paper reported on Friday, citing a local county resident.

The resident said that at least five infants have been sent to other families, with the earliest case dating back to 2011 and the most recent occurring within the last two years, according to The Paper report.

The disciplinary inspection and supervision authorities have also launched an investigation into the personnel involved. The case will be handled in accordance with laws and regulations, according to the county health commission.
