In order to promote winter tourism consumption, Ya'an City, Sichuan Province recently launched 85 preferential policies covering ticket exemptions and travel packages and 102 promotional activities. These include an array of diverse experiences such as autumn foliage appreciation, ice and snow sports, hot springs and folk culture.

From November 15, 2024 to February 15, 2025, major scenic spots, B&Bs, hotels,  in Ya'an city will jointly launch as many as 85 special promotions such as winter travel packages and ticket exemptions for tourists. These offers will cover many well-known attractions in Ya'an city, such as the Bifeng Gorge, Mengding Mountain, the Trumpet River, and more. Specific discounts will include but are not limited to ticket discounts, package discounts, and accommodation and dining packages. For example, Zhougongshan Hot Spring Town has already launched a variety of hot spring packages, including a 2-day, 1-night introductory experience, exciting tours, and immersive experiences with prices ranging from 110 dollers to 178 dollers 

Ya'an city also plans to offer 102 cultural activities to promote consumption, including themed events for red leaf season, ice and snow season, and New Year celebrations.

The red leaf season leverages Ya’an’s natural environment and the vibrant colors of its forests to offer activities such as foliage appreciation and allows visitors to experience the joy of the autumn harvest and enjoy the beautiful surrounding scenery.

Meanwhile, the ice and snow season makes full use of Ya’an’s mid-alpine mountains to provide a number of ice and snow-themed activities, and the city’s hot springs  offer tourists a perfect place to rest and unwind.

The sports season combines Ya'an city's natural characteristics and sport-dedicated resources to provide wellbeing-oriented activities, invigorate the city’s tourism and stimulate consumption potential.

The Folklore Season will support local counties in organizing unique events dedicated to local customs and festivals that are aimed to promote sustainable cultural tourism.

Furthermore, Ya'an city will also promote four tourism routes: a romantic red leaf and colorful forest tour, a snow-viewing holiday, a panda homeland discovery trip, and a hot spring holiday. These routes not only cover popular attractions in Ya'an city, but also combine unique local resources and activities, allowing tourists to fully experience the charm and customs of Ya'an city during their journey.

Four recommended tourism routes:

1. A romantic trip among red leaves & forests

Recommended route: Chengdu → Mengding Mountain → Bifeng Gorge → Diaohe River → Fengtongzhai and Dengchigou → Qiqizangzhai and Shenmulei → Longcanggou → Jiajin Mountain → Yunfeng Mountain → Wanggangping

Highlights: the autumn foliage, the vibrant colors of the forests, the autumn scenery, and the unique charm of winter and autumn of Ya’an.

2. Snow viewing holiday

Recommended route: Chengdu → Zhougong Mountain → Mengding Mountain → Bifeng Gorge → Longcanggou → Niubei Mountain → Jiaoding Mountain → Menghuo City → Wanggangping → Trumpet River → Dawa Genzha → Qi Qi Tibetan Village·Shenmu Barrier→ Jiajinshan

Highlights: Low-mountain activities: play in the snow in Mengding Mountain, at the Bifeng Gorge, in Longcanggou and other places.

4. Hot spring and relax holiday

Recommended route: Chengdu → Zhougong Mountain → Hanyuan Lake → Sea of Flowers and Fruits → Shimian Hot Spring Hotel → Crab Luo Puzi → Gongga Golden Soup → Ansunchang
