In response to the brief emergency martial law South Korea imposed, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian stated that China has taken note of the relevant situation. Regarding South Korea's internal affairs, China doesn't make comment.

China has reminded its citizens in South Korea to enhance their safety precautions. It is hoped that the South Korean side will take effective measures to ensure the safety of Chinese citizens and institutions in South Korea, Lin said.

China's position on the Korean Peninsula issue remains unchanged, said Lin.

According to Yonhap News Agency, South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol declared emergency martial law on Tuesday night, accusing the opposition of "anti-state activities and plotting rebellion." However, the cabinet agreed early on Wednesday to revoke it, and President Yoon announced its lifting just hours after the declaration.
