Japanese actress Miho Nakayama, 54, was found dead at her home in Tokyo's Shibuya district on Friday morning, the police department said, according to NHK, Japan's national public broadcaster.

Police were called to her home shortly after noon and confirmed she had died in the bathtub, the NHK said.

The police are now investigating the details of the case, the NHK added.

According to the official website, the Osaka concert of "Miho Nakayama Christmas Concert 2024 in Billboard Live", which was scheduled to be held on the same day, has been canceled due to her "poor health," as reported by the Yahoo Japan.

Nakayama has performed in numerous film and television productions, including Love Letter and Kenja no Ai.

Love Letter remains one of her most recognized works internationally, earning her critical acclaim and several Best Actress awards. She was also nominated for a Japanese Academy Award for her role in Tokyo Biyori in 1998.
