The Shenzhen Fire and Rescue Department in Southeast China's Guangdong Province issued a statement on Wednesday regarding a fire incident at a high-rise residential building. The statement said that at 2:46 pm, the department received a report about the fire in one of the buildings of a residential complex located in Yuehai Subdistrict, Nanshan district. 

The command center promptly dispatched an initial response team, which include 16 fire engines, 80 firefighters, and the full-duty command team from the local police. Fire rescue teams have already arrived at the scene, and further details are still being verified, according to the statement.

Update: As of 6:00 pm on Wednesday, the fire has been extinguished. The incident resulted in one fatality, with no other injuries reported. The cause of the accident is under further investigation, according to the Shenzhen Fire and Rescue Department.
