Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian on Thursday slams a report released by US Department of Defense titled "Military and Security development involving the PRC," saying that like previous reports of this kind, this US report disregards the facts, is filled with bias, spreads the China threat narrative, merely to serve as an excuse to maintain its military hegemony.

Lin stated that China is firmly committed to being a force for world peace, stability, and progress, while also resolutely safeguarding its national sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity. 

We urge the US side to abandon Cold War mentality and hegemonic logic, to view China's strategic intentions and defense buildup objectively and rationally, and to stop issuing such irresponsible reports year after year. We call for concrete actions to maintain stability in China-US bilateral and military relations, said Lin.
