On December 12, the China-Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC) Sports Coordination Mechanism was officially launched in Beijing, China Sports Daily reported.
Liu Guoyong, deputy director of the General Administration of Sport of China, along with Slovenian Ambassador to China, Bostjan Malovrh, and an official from the Croatian Embassy in China, jointly unveiled the mechanism.
Liu said at the launching ceremony that the China-CEEC Sports Coordination Mechanism marks the beginning of a new era for cooperation and development in the sports sector between China and CEEC.
Liu expressed hope that all parties would make full use of this platform to leverage the unique role of sports in fostering mutual understanding and friendship, and promoting cultural exchanges between the people of China and CEEC.
The establishment of the sports coordination mechanism is an important outcome of the China-CEEC summit in 2021. Croatia will be responsible for summer sports, while Slovenia will handle winter sports.
