Malaysia: Art exhibition held to mark 50th anniversary of China-Malaysia ties

An art exhibition opened on December 10 to mark the 50th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia, according to a report by the China Collector of Calligraphy and Painting Association (CCCPA).

Hosted by Malaysian Embassy in China, the exhibition is dedicated to promoting cultural exchanges between the two sides through art and calligraphy. 

Malaysian Ambassador to China Norman bin Muhamad reflected on the 50-year journey of China-Malaysia diplomatic relations marked by solidarity and joint progress. He highlighted the fruitful achievements in political trust and economic cooperation, emphasizing that cultural exchanges serve as a spiritual bond between the two countries. This art exhibition, he said, will undoubtedly inject new vitality and depth into the bilateral friendship, continuing the legacy of shared goodwill between the two countries.

Zhang Dejun, head of the CCCPA, pointed out that this exchange exhibition provides a valuable platform for cultural integration between China and Malaysia. He looks forward to the opportunity for artists from both countries to spark more creative inspiration through this event and jointly promote Asian cultural and artistic expressions to the center of the global stage.

Ambassador Muhamad was gifted a painting that blended the cultural elements of both countries at the event. 

Luo Weijian, president of the Malaysian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in China, reviewed the active role played by the chamber of commerce in promoting bilateral economic, trade, and cultural interactions, emphasizing the unique value of artistic exchanges in deepening the emotional connection between the people of both countries. Looking ahead, he expressed strong confidence in the broad prospects for future cooperation in many fields, conveying optimism about deepening China-Malaysia relations.
