The Guangzhou South railway station in South China's Guangzhou Province has reminded passengers not to obstruct train doors or forcibly board or disembark after a passenger's fingers were pinched while trying to block the door of a high-speed train.
The injured passenger has been sent to the hospital for further examination and treatment, said the railway station on its official Weibo account on Saturday.
The incident occurred when the train G1175 was about to depart, a passenger with a ticket for carriage 10 disembarked unexpectedly from carriage 8 and ran toward carriage 9 of the second train unit.
While attempting to block the closing doors, the passenger's fingers were pinched, said the Guangzhou South railway station.
A video from the scene showed a high-speed train starting to move on the platform, depicting a person caught by the train door and dragged along the platform, according to The Paper.
The station staff immediately notified the train driver, who stopped the train, and relocated the passenger to a safe area on the platform. Emergency medical personnel were called to the scene, the station said.
An initial examination revealed that the passenger suffered from finger injuries and was subsequently taken to the hospital for treatment.
