Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Monday that Ukraine attaches great importance to developing relations with China and hopes to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation, the Xinhua News Agency reported.
Zelensky made the remarks when he accepted credential from the newly appointed Chinese Ambassador Ma Shengkun in Kiev on Monday. Zelensky positively evaluated the development momentum of China-Ukraine relations and expressed the hope to further enhance exchanges at all levels with China, deepening cooperation in fields such as economy and trade, as well as culture and people-to-people exchanges, Xinhua reported.
China and Ukraine are strategic partners. China has always insisted on viewing and planning the China-Ukraine relationship from a long-term perspective. It stands ready to work together with Ukraine to effectively implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields, maintain and develop China-Ukraine relations, and benefit the people of both countries, Ma said.
Ma arrived in Ukraine for his new post on November 20.
