In response to US Secretary of State Antony Blinken's claim that "Taiwan is not just China's business but the world's business and it is because the world would be influenced if there were to be a crisis over Taiwan," Chen Binhua, spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, reiterated that Taiwan is China's Taiwan. The Taiwan question is China's internal affair. Resolving the Taiwan question is a matter for the Chinese people on both sides of the Straits and does not allow for outside interference.

Chen pointed out that the actions of "Taiwan independence" separatists and interference by external forces are the greatest threats to peace and stability in the Taiwan Straits. If the US genuinely seeks peace and stability in the region, it should adhere to the one-China principle and the three China-US Joint Communiqués, handle the Taiwan question cautiously, explicitly oppose "Taiwan independence," and support China's peaceful reunification.
