In collaboration with the Embassy of Indonesia in China, the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) jointly hosted the "ASEAN (Indonesia) Movie Night" in Beijing on December 20.

Secretary General of the ACC Shi Zhongjun, and Indonesian Ambassador to China Djauhari Oratmangun participated in the event, along with about 70 delegates, including diplomats from the embassies of Brunei, Cambodia, Malaysia, Myanmar, and the Philippines, as well as university students from ASEAN member states (AMS) and China.

In his remarks, Shi pointed out that under the framework of the ASEAN-China Year of People-to-people Exchanges, in 2024 ASEAN and China have hosted various cultural exchange activities that have contributed to enhancing friendship, and furthering communication and cooperation between both sides.

In 2025, such events will continue to be held by the two countries.

Looking ahead, China is willing to work with Indonesia to jointly build a community of shared future, featuring peaceful coexistence and mutual benefit in the spirit of inclusiveness and openness, said Shi.

Ambassador Oratmangun highly acknowledged the importance of bilateral relations and stated that both countries have worked together to deepen political and economic cooperation and people-to-people exchanges, and made great achievements in various areas.

The Embassy of Indonesia in China will keep on deepening the collaboration with the ACC to promote cultural exchanges, and foster better understanding and deeper trust between the young generations of both sides to contribute to a stronger bilateral friendship as well as a closer ASEAN-China relationship, said Oratmangun.

The guests watched the film Tulang Belulang Tulang (or My Great Grandpa's Lost Skeleton), which was just released in Indonesia in September.

The film showcases Indonesia's cultural characteristics and social features from a unique perspective, bringing a wonderful audio-visual experience to the audience.

After watching the film, the students shared their thoughts inspired by the movie. They said they had a deeper insight into the true meaning of life. Meanwhile, they also better understood the local customs and culture of Indonesia.
