Shakhrat Nuryshev, ambassador of Kazakhstan to China met with Li Luming, president of Tsinghua University in Beijing on December 26, 2024. Their talks focused on topics of bilateral cooperation in higher education, expanding the science student exchange program and the internship programs in Tsinghua University, and exchanging experience in the field of science and technology. 

The ambassador introduced the implementation of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's instructions on opening first-class foreign science university branches in Kazakhstan. He noted that it is important to improve the level of technological education. The ambassador also proposed to deepen student exchanges and cooperation and establish a joint scientific research center with Tsinghua University at major universities in Kazakhstan.

For his part, Li shared with the ambassador the cooperation with educational institutions in Kazakhstan, the activities of Tsinghua research center, and plans to further develop cooperation with universities in Kazakhstan.

Moreover, during his visit to Tsinghua University, Ambassador Nuryshev also met Kazakh students studying at top-tier universities in Beijing. The ambassador discussed practical problems with the students including the stipend and scholarships, learning and accommodation conditions, and internship opportunities. 

The students, who will play an important role in the future development of Kazakhstan and in promoting Kazakhstan and China's permanent comprehensive strategic partnership, also exchanged views on further promoting Kazakhstan-China relations, including expanding cooperation in the field of education.
