On Tuesday, civil aviation operations supported a total of 11 disaster relief flights, including five aviation flights by Chinese airlines, two flights by the PLA, three general aviation flights, and one emergency-department drone flight, according to the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).
On Wednesday, an additional 10 disaster relief flights are planned, expected to transport 170 personnel and 25.6 tons of supplies, the CAAC said.
In response to inquiries regarding rescue and relief efforts following the 6.8-magnitude earthquake in Dingri County, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun stated that the first batch of central disaster relief supplies has reached the affected area.
All earthquake-damaged roads in Dingri County have been reopened, and power supply has been restored to the county and several townships. Telecommunication signals in the disaster area have also been reestablished. Guo emphasized that, under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee, the people in the affected areas will undoubtedly overcome the disaster and rebuild their homes.
China's central authorities have dispatched approximately 22,000 disaster relief items to the quake-hit region, including cotton tents, winter coats, quilts, and folding beds, along with specialized materials designed for the high-altitude and cold conditions.
The Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Emergency Management have allocated 100 million yuan ($13.9 million) to back up disaster relief efforts in Xizang. The National Development and Reform Commission also allocated 100 million yuan for post-disaster emergency operations
