Chinese actor Wang Xing is set to return to Shanghai by plane on Friday evening, the actor's lawyer told Global Times on Friday. At the request of his family, the legal team declined to disclose the specific flight number.
According to a report by Xinhua News Agency, Thailand's Senior Inspector General Thatchai Pitaneelaboot stated on Thursday that the preliminary investigation has confirmed that Chinese actor Wang Xing is a victim of human trafficking. He is expected to return to China on Friday.
Thatchai stated that according to the investigation, Wang Xing had received a job offer and traveled to Thailand. Upon arrival at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok, he was picked up by a vehicle arranged by the "recruiter." Wang took photos of the vehicle's license plate and key landmarks on the way, sending them to his girlfriend in China, Thatchai said, adding that Wang didn't realize that he might have been deceived until he was brought across a river into rural Myanmar and found himself landed in a raw environment where there were no recreational facilities at all.
