China's trade with the US in 2024 grew 4.9 percent year-on-year to 4.898 trillion yuan ($668.06 billion), data from the General Administration of Customs (GAC) showed on Monday. Wang Lingjun, deputy director of the GAC on Monday said that the bilateral trade resulted in mutual benefit as China imported products such as agricultural products from the US while exporting commodities like clothing to the US.
China's exports to the US in 2024 reached 3.734 trillion yuan, reflecting a 6.1 percent increase, while the imports rose 1.2 percent to 1.164 trillion yuan.
Wang noted that China imported agricultural products, energy products, pharmaceuticals, and airplanes from the US while exporting clothing, consumer electronics, and household appliances to the US, highlighting a mutually beneficial and cooperative relationship.
Trade between China and the US grew by 4.9 percent in 2024, roughly in line with China's overall growth rate of trade, Wang said.
