Chinese Embassy in South Korea expresses heartfelt condolences over Chinese citizens' casualties in bridge collapse accident

A collapse accident occurred at a construction site for a highway in South Korea's Anseong on Tuesday, resulting in four deaths and six injuries, with two Chinese nationals among the deceased and one who was injured. According to a statement released by the Chinese Embassy in South Korea on Wednesday, consular officials visited the injured Chinese nationals in the hospital on Tuesday and Wednesday to offer support and condolences, and they also went to the accident response headquarters in Anseong to fully assist the affected Chinese nationals and their families in handling the aftermath.

The statement said that the embassy has expressed its deep concern to the relevant South Korean authorities, urging them to make every effort to treat the injured, actively assist the affected families, swiftly determine the cause of the accident, and take concrete measures to prevent such tragedies from happening again, while also ensuring the safety and legitimate rights of Chinese workers in South Korea. The embassy also extended its deepest condolences to the victims, expressed sympathy to the families of the deceased and the injured, and wished the injured a speedy recovery.  

Previously, in a post on X by Dai Bing, Chinese Ambassador to South Korea, Dai expressed his shock upon learning about this collapse accident, extending his condolences to the victims of the accident and their families.
