The Embassy of Türkiye in China held a press briefing in Beijing on February 25. İsmail Hakkı Musa, Ambassador of Türkiye to China, reviewed the historical origins and development of Türkiye-China relations while exploring bilateral cooperation in the future.
The ambassador started with the long history of the friendship between the two countries. As early as the 15th century, Türkiye and China had established close ties through the Silk Road.
In recent years, the bilateral relations have been continuously deepened under the common strategic vision of the leaders of the two countries. Particularly, in 2024, exchanges and bilateral cooperation in fields such as politics, economy, and culture have made significant progress.
The ambassador stated that Türkiye and China had frequent high-level exchanges. The meeting and talks have further consolidated bilateral relations. The ambassador said that in 2025, Türkiye will continue to strengthen friendly cooperation with China.
Türkiye-China economic relations are an important part of the strategic partnership. In 2024, the bilateral trade volume reached almost $50 billion. China has become Türkiye's largest trading partner in Asia, he said.
The year 2025 will see further strengthened economic cooperation. He also said that Türkiye offers vast investment opportunities for Chinese enterprises in sectors including automobiles, machinery and energy.
"We'd like to invite more Chinese tourists to our beautiful country and experience the hospitality of the Turkish people," he said, stating that Türkiye will continue to support the Belt and Road Initiative.
