Officials from the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba visited the Foreign Affairs Office of the Haidian district in Beijing on March 3. During the activity of "Diplomats Dialogue around the Fireplace" dedicated to Cuba, both sides explored in-depth cooperation opportunities in science and technology, education, economy and trade.
The session was chaired by Jiao Songtao, deputy director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Haidian district. Jiao talked about the resource advantages and cooperation plan with the delegates, highlighting the rapid development of the technological service sector and artificial intelligence. The district is open to Cuban enterprises and talents to seize cooperation opportunities, invest and innovate, writing a new chapter of cooperation, said Jiao.
Aileen Diaz Bernal, third secretary (chancellery), said that Cuba is willing to carry out all-round cooperation with the Haidian district.
The year 2025 marks the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Cuba.
It is expected that Cuba will take the opportunity to strengthen and expand cooperation in education, she said.
Cuba is very grateful to the Chinese government for its long-term support and looks forward to deepening cooperation with the Haidian district in education, business and other fields, forming more alliances, and injecting new impetus to the friendly relations between the two countries, Bernal said.
Daylin Hernandez Robaina, from the economic, commercial and scientific-technical office of the Embassy, said that Cuba has high expectations for the Haidian district in business cooperation. Cuba is undergoing digital transformation and attaches great importance to cooperation with Chinese companies. Companies in the Haidian district are very welcomed to actively participate in Cuba's network construction and promote cooperation between the two countries in the field of network security, said Robaina.
