In response to media inquiries regarding a Reuters report that US Commerce Department has informed staffers in recent weeks that the Chinese AI model DeepSeek is banned on their government devices, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said that China consistently opposes overstretching the concept of national security, and the politicization of economic, trade, and technological issues.

Mao added that China will firmly safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises.
